Ben rolled up a magazine with the intention of bopping Boo.
KC: Ah! Don’t hit Boo with that magazine!
Ben starts to pick up another magazine.
KC: Not that one, either! No hitting Boo with magazines!
Ben moves towards Boo.
KC: Or with your hands.
Ben moves towards a pillow.
KC: Or your pillows. Do nothing to the cat!
RB: FINE!
Ben bops me on the head with a magazine.

I’m sitting in the office enjoying my pregnancy fueled dinner of pork and beans while watching Law and Order. Again. Some more. I hear my husband began laughing uncontrollably in the living room. He then comes back to the office with a laser pointer on the carpet. (This is the cat’s favorite game.) He is still giggling so much that he can barely get the words out. Finally he sits down and I get the story.
Background: Boo loves that laser pointer. We keep it on the coffee table and she knows it. If you touch that thing then Boo sits up on her hind legs and mews. It’s really very cute.
Ben started reaching for the laser pointer on the table. Boo popped her head up on the other side of the coffee table looking for her toy, mewing expectantly. As soon as her little head was visible, Ben bopped her on the head with a roll of paper towels. She ducked and mewed angrily. He did this three or four times or until the tears from laughing so hard made it difficult to see the cat.
So, to recap, a grown man that I willingly married whose genes my baby girl has already inherited…plays Whack-a-Mole with the cat. I’m a lucky woman.

He’s in there gagging at the kitty litter. He’s not happy about the fact that I can’t clean the litter box anymore. Especially since that was our agreement.
He’s so sweet.
UPDATE: After he finished, he said “THERE. The cat litter is taken out. HAPPY?!” Yep. He’s sweet alright.

I love my sweet little kitty but she has a bad habit. I came home from church on Sunday and looked around the living room. I sat down on the couch and OHMYGOODDEARSWEETLORDTHERESACATINMYFACE!!!!!!!!! Boo likes to appear out of thin air just to make her humans shriek. She tried a different tack with Ben. He was laying on the couch tonight and Boo leapt up onto the arm of the couch. From his point of view, she was trying to latch onto his face like something out of Aliens.
I love that kitty but she needs to work on her people skills.

We got our kitty today! She’s a black cat, about a year old and is a little scared of her new surroundings. She spent a lot of the day under the dining table just staring at us. Finally she ventured out and went straight to BEN. Now as you can see from his post, Ben is not a professed cat lover. Boo (her name fits her perfectly) wouldn’t stop rubbing her head on his hands and so he kept petting her. When she got a little lost in the bedroom and began mewing, Ben was the one that heard her and went to go help. When I sent him to the store for a couple of things he turned around at the door and said “Bye, Boo!” and then began to close the door. I guess he just forgot about his brand new wife. You know what I think?
I think he likes his kitty.
UPDATE: Boo just knocked over a glass on the cedar chest and we had to scramble to get it cleaned up. When Ben realized that it scared her, he sat down, called her over and started to pet her. I gave him a giant grin. He finally looked up at me and exclaimed “All right, I admit it…I LIKE THE CAT!”
